So bring family and friends and enjoy an afternoon of fun and laughter! There will be a Friends meeting at 7:30pm on Monday 6th September to discuss the finer details - all welcome.
~~~~~ GARDENING Ben Lawn, gardener at Lytes Cary, kindly visited the gardening club this week and also was on hand at the allotments on Tuesday. He is running Wednesday morning sessions for parents and children during the summer holidays – so do go along and enjoy picking some vegetables to cook for dinner and learning how to sow and plant out new seedlings. ~~~~~
CHADS Congratulations to all members of our local drama group (including two of our talented parents, Dominic Sandford and Janice Holwill) who performed a comedy at the Reading Rooms last week. We thank them for their kindness in donating the proceeds to the school. Huge thanks also to all parents who ran the refreshments at the shows. The children performed brilliantly, the audience applauded enthusiastically and laughed in all the right places and thankfully, the weather didn’t stop us one little bit (even though it really tried)! Thank you for…the amazing costumes, superb make-up and hair, help with scenery and props, the super refreshments PODS – All the children were delighted to be involved in making our fantastic pod last week, which is proving very popular during breaktimes. The children have agreed rules for the use of the pod. CHARLTON MACKRELL ‘EARLY BIRDS’ Following a very positive response to our consultation about running an out of hours service at Charlton Mackrell, we are looking into setting up a before school service in the first instance, hopefully during the early part of the Autumn Term. Further information in September. ~~~~~ GOVERNOR VACANCY There will be a nomination and election process for a new Parent Governor next term. The Clerk to the Governors will send details of this to all parents in September but, if you are interested, there is information about the role of governors at www.six.somerset.gov.uk/governors or please ask any current governor.
